This qualification reflects the role of workers that require mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Training Venue
The location of the training for this student cohort is face-to-face in our training room at Suite 3, 2 Phipps Cl, DEAKIN, ACT, 2600
Mode of Delivery
Training – All training will be delivered face to face within our classroom. We will offer real time in person sessions.
Self-Paced Learning– Students will be required to undertake activities outside of the structured learning environment such pre-reading and pre-course workbook which is a part of the course requirement.

Course Fees
$150.00 inclusive of all learning materials, assessments tasks, communication with trainer and issuing of statement of attainment upon successful completion.
Delivery Structure and Supervision
This Training Product will be delivered as follows:
No of students per class – 8 -10 per group
Structured Learning: 1 session of 6 hours or 2 sessions of 3 hours will be offered.
Self-Paced: 6 hours
TOTAL HOURS: 12 hours
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
This unit will not be available via RPL.
Prospective students will be made aware of the RPL policy and process prior to enrolment into the program, via discussions and the Student Handbook and/or Trained Up website.
Credit Transfer
Trained Up has a simple but methodical Credit Transfer process, which is outlined in detail on the Policy on Credit Transfer.
Prospective students will be made aware of the Credit Transfer policy and process prior to enrolment into the program, via discussions and the Student Handbook and/or Trained Up website, pre-enrolment discussion and are encouraged to apply if they believe that they may be eligible.
Students are encouraged to apply for Credit Transfer across our RTO, however for this one unit course, it is not appropriate.
