SITHFAB021 ProvideS Responsible Service of Alcohol

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills, and knowledge required to responsibly sell, serve, or supply alcohol.

     

Unit of Competency:   SITHFAB021 Provides responsible service of alcohol

 

Who needs an RSA (SITHFAB021   Provide responsible service of alcohol)

Responsible practices must be undertaken wherever alcohol is sold or served, including where alcohol samples are served during on-site product tastings. This unit applies to any workplace where alcohol is sold or served, including all types of hospitality venues, packaged liquor outlets, and wineries, breweries, and distilleries. The unit applies to all levels of personnel -

  • Involved in the sale, service, and promotional service of alcohol on licensed premises.
  • Food and beverage attendants selling or serving alcohol
  • Packaged liquor sales persons selling in person, over the phone, or online
  • Winery, brewery, and distillery cellar door staff; and supplier sales representatives.
  • Security staff who monitor customer behaviour
  • Licensee, who is ultimately responsible for responsible service of alcohol (RSA) management.
  • Volunteers, Promotional staff, Contract employees, Directors of registered clubs

     

Entry Requirements: There are no entry requirements.      


Delivery Structure and Supervision


Maximum of 12 learners per group. (Class room training in ACT only)


 

Classroom learning: face-to-face training = 4 hours 

Assessment: Approximately 2 hours = Total of 2 hours, i.e. combined theory and practical components, plus 1 hour of demonstration tests = 3 hours 

Pre-reading /unstructured self-directed learning: 20 hours per week x 2 weeks: 40 hours (provided 2 weeks prior to course commencement). 

Total Volume of Learning for this unit as per above = 47 hours

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

 

This Course covers

  • How to properly assess an emergency situation
  • DRSABCD
  • CPR techniques on adults and infants
  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Assessing and moving injured casualties
  • Legal responsibilities of a first aider
  • Basic anatomy and physiology


Pre-Requisites and Selection Criteria 

Students will need to meet the Selection Criteria requirements to be eligible to enter into this course. Evidence of the student meeting the Selection Criteria will be collected as part of the Enrolment process. 

· A written enrolment form.

· Successful completion of language, literacy, and numeracy assessment.

· Unique Student Identifier (USI).

· Identification Documents including a Photo ID.

· Must be over the age of 18 years.

· Due to the physical requirements of this unit the student must have the ability to perform CPR on a manikin on the floor.

· Students may have completed prior training and require refresher training as per regulatory requirements. A certified copy of the student’s    current certificate must be obtained as proof of prior competence. Refresher students must complete all aspects of the training and assessment activities.

· Willing to undertake an LLN Assessment upon enrolment and prior to course commencement.

     

Mode of Delivery


Classroom   –   All training will be delivered face-to-face within a classroom.

Self-Paced – Students will be required to undertake activities outside of the classroom environment, and specifically pre-reading, and theory/written assessments which is a part of the course requirement.

This Training Product will be delivered as follows:


No of students per class– 12 maximum

Classroom:  1 session of 8 hours including 6 hours of training, 1 hour of practical practice and 1 hour allowed for assessment, total. 

Self-Paced theory assessment:  4 hours 

Pre-Reading allowance:  4 hours

TOTAL HOURS:  16 hours  


Please note:- 

The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommends that individuals refresh their CPR skills every 12 months. This is in line with international guidelines, which suggest that CPR skills should be refreshed at least once a year. 


Where do I go to attend the first aid course?

Our classes run in 3/2 Phipps Close, Deakin, Canberra between 8 am to 5 pm.

Booking Terms: Course fees for short courses are due and payable in full at least 7 days prior to course commencement. A full refund is available for any refunds for any booked course/s that are requested seven (7) days prior to the course commencement date.

CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations

This course is for new entrants to the security industry looking to obtain a Security Licence. It is the first course you must complete. A Trained Up security guard course was developed with industry, for industry, and delivered by trainers with decades of experience in the industry! 

     

Entry   Requirements: · 

  • The applicant will be required to successfully complete an ACSF language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) assessment.
  • Hold a minimum of a year 10 certificate (or equivalent).
  • Able to commit to the course duration and time commitment.
  • Be eligible to apply for a Security Providers Licence in your state or territory:
    • Be 18 years or older (You can enroll and complete your training at the age of 17 and 9 months but cannot apply for your licence until you are 18).
    • Have not been convicted of a disqualifying offence in the past 10 years.
    • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or hold an appropriate Visa to work in Australia.


The Certificate II in Security Operations course includes a total of 14 core units.

This qualification is based on the licensing requirements to obtain a Security Providers Licence in all states and territories and therefore units within this course cannot be changed.

  • CPPSEC2102 Apply legal and procedural requirements to work effectively within a security team
  • CPPSEC2103 Apply WHS, emergency response and evacuation procedures to maintain security
  • CPPSEC2104 Apply risk assessment to select and carry out response to security risk situations
  • CPPSEC2105 Provide quality services to a range of security clients
  • CPPSEC2106 Protect self and others using basic defensive techniques
  • CPPSEC2107 Patrol premises to monitor property and maintain security
  • CPPSEC2108 Screen people, personal effects and items to maintain security
  • CPPSEC2109 Monitor and control access and exit of persons and vehicles from premises
  • CPPSEC2110 Monitor and control individual and crowd behaviour to maintain security
  • CPPSEC2111 Apply security procedures to manage intoxicated persons
  • CPPSEC2112 Apply security procedures to remove persons from premises
  • CPPSEC2113 Escort and protect persons and valuables
  • HLTAID011 Provide first aid

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • maintaining safety and security by patrolling
  • protecting or guarding property while unarmed
  • screening entry of persons or items
  • monitoring the behaviour of others
  • removing persons from the premises

Structured training:   15 days x 8 hours/day (plus breaks) = Total 120 hours

Unstructured self-paced/completion of assessments: varies per unit
